It recognises the knowledge and practical understanding required to support sustainable daily operations that minimise environmental impacts while maintaining high-quality services for visitors.
The micro-credential focuses on Green Skills related to the efficient management of workplace operations, including the responsible use of environmentally friendly products and materials, resource-efficient housekeeping and maintenance practices, sustainable purchasing decisions, and the implementation of operational measures that reduce waste, pollution and unnecessary resource consumption.
Designed within the GreenVET4U project, this micro-credential supports the development of sustainable operational practices in Uganda’s tourism sector by promoting competence-based assessment and the recognition of Green Skills increasingly required by employers. It contributes to improving learners’ employability while encouraging tourism businesses to adopt environmentally responsible management practices aligned with sustainable development principles.
