This micro-credential certifies the learner’s ability to guide, inform and educate visitors on environmentally responsible behaviours in hospitality, tourism and ecotourism settings. It recognises the knowledge and practical understanding required to communicate sustainability principles effectively, promote respect for natural and cultural heritage, and encourage responsible visitor behaviour that contributes to environmental conservation.
The micro-credential focuses on Green Skills related to visitor communication, environmental interpretation, awareness-raising and responsible tourism practices. Learners develop the ability to explain sustainability principles clearly, provide guidance on environmentally responsible behaviour and promote positive interactions between visitors, local communities and natural environments.
Designed within the GreenVET4U project, this micro-credential supports the development of tourism professionals capable of acting as ambassadors for sustainable tourism. It contributes to improving the quality of visitor experiences while encouraging behaviours that protect Uganda’s natural and cultural heritage.
